This mocha protein ice cream recipe is a perfect snack for anytime, and an awesome way to get more protein into your diet, especially if you don’t eat a lot of meat. This recipe is a way to enjoy the experience of ice cream without the guilt, and loads of calories and sugar. This recipe comes in at under 300 calories, yet it packs 20 grams of protein.

The same easy, protein packed ice cream, but with the glory of chocolate and coffee flavors blended in. On point. It’s easy as pie, just keep frozen bananas on hand (it’s a great way to use bananas that may have gone too brown for your taste – instead of throwing them out, just peel them and pop into the freezer in freezer bags. Then you’ll always have them on hand for protein ice cream and smoothies.) Garnish with some dark chocolate chips if you’re feeling festive!

Ingredients

1 and a half frozen bananas, sliced
1 scoop chocolate protein powder
1/3 cup chilled strong coffee
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Blend all ingredients together in a food processor until there are no more lumps. NOTE: this makes VERY soft, soft serve ‘ice cream’. Put it in the freezer for about a half hour for these pictures. It’s up to you how you want to enjoy it!
